The trekking to this particular peak does not only provide enjoyable moment but also some of the magnificent views of Himalayas lying in the Khumbu region including the Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt.Nuptse (7,855m), Lhotse (8,516m), Lhotse middle peak (8,410m) and Lhotse Shar (8,383m) make a semi circle in the north. The views of Makalu (8475m) in the east, Baruntse (7720m), and Mt. Amadablam (6856m) in the south add more charm while having summit to the Peak.
The peak was first ascended in 1953 by the British team as part of their preparations for climbing Everest. Tenzing Norgay was one of the members of the first ascent team. This peak is actually part of the south ridge of Lhotse Shar and forms a semicircle of cliffs that rise to the north of Nuptse, Lhotse, Middle Peak and Lhotse Shar. Flight from Kathmandu Domestic airport to Lukla airport (2840m/9,315ft) about 30/35 minutes flight than trek to Phakding (2610m/8,560ft) 3 hours OR Monjo (2,835m/9,299ft) 5 hours. You will catch a glimpse of some great mountains such as Nupla (5,885m/19,302ft) above Kongde Ridge, Kusum Kang (6367m/20,884ft) appears on the right a little later. All along you will be following the northern (left) bank of the Dudh Kosi River. Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft) 6 to 7 hours. Namche Bazaar is one of biggest market town in Everest region as Acclimatization place of trekking and expedition. Today begins on level ground, relative to the environment in which you are! You will cross the river on a high suspension bridge and begin to climb up to Monjo (2,835m) and on to the gateway to the Sagamartha National Park Entrance in place to protect and preserve this beautiful environment. There is a good rest stop on the way up where you will see people gathered, admiring the first real chance to see Everest in the distance. Today your Guides will take you to Visitor Center of headquarter Sagarmatha National Park where we can observe an assortment of things related to the first Everest descender, Sherpa culture and learn about the various plant and animal life of the Everest region. Trek from Dinboche to Chhukhung (4,730m/15,514ft) 3 to 4 hours: Today short trek to Chkukhung and after lunch hike to Chhokhung Ri (5,550m/18,204ft) 2 hours. A beautiful hike with a stunning location below the Lhotse/Nuptse wall. This is the largest rock wall in the Himalayas. From here we get great views of Ama Dablam, Island Peak and Makalu. Trek from Chhukung to Island Peak Base camp (5,080m/16,662ft) 4 hours: The path from Chhukhung leads fairly steep way climbing south then turning east to the main line of the valley. It then winds along or below the southern flank of the moraine from the Lhotse Glacier. We continue short pleasant walking along a stream side. The route to the Amphu Lapcha lies to the southeast. A crises-cross route through the Imja and Lhotse glacier moraines leads to a wide valley flanking the SW side of Island peak. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Rest and Acclimatization in Island Peak Base Camp and preparation climbing Training: After breakfast climbing guide train you climbing techniques using climbing gears of ice axe, climbing boot and crampons, harness, ascender, etc. Although it is not mandatory to have prior training experience for Island Peak Climbing, we believe that some training experience will boost up your confidence and climbing skills to increase the chances of scaling the summit as well as to fully enjoy the experience.
Island Peak Base camp to summit (6,189m/20,300ft) Island Peak: Island Peak Ascent (6,189m). We begin our climb early in the morning, generally around 2 AM. In the beginning, we climb the rock gully. This is not difficult but there are several short rock steps to climb before we emerge on the right side of the gully. The route then follows a ridgeline, which leads to an exhilarating and exposed traverse into the snout of the summit glacier. We need to rope up for the glacier as it contains several crevasses. The guides will fix a rope wherever necessary. A steep snow slope leads us onto the summit ridge. After enjoying the summit views, and taking pictures, we descend all the way to Base Camp for overnight and to celebrate on our success Island peak climb – Included Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Extra Day encase weather will change on summit Day: The weather does not guarantee that’s why this day set aside as a contingency encase unable to submit the Island Peak on the desired day due to the bad weather or any other region. Trek from Island Peak Base Camp to Tengboche (3,860m/12,660ft) 5 hours: After breakfast you have to walk down all the way to Tengboche via same way by Pangboche. Tengboche Monastery is famous Monastery in Khumbu region as well as biggest Monastery and best time to visit in Monastery after 3 pm until 5 pm or early in the morning because all lamas are worship time. Trek from Tengboche to Monjo (2,835m/9,298ft) 5 to 6 hours: After breakfast the trail walk downhill than keep climb for about an hour before you encounter the scenic walk back into the Namche Bazaar and keep continues again downhill to the Monjo.
