Chandragiri is one of the new centers of tourists attraction, is located 7km from Thankot or approximately 16km south-west of the capital of Kathmandu at an altitude of 2,551m/7,500ft. covered with a lush green blanket of floras. It is a beautiful hill station which takes 3 hrs of hike and 1 hrs(7km) off-road drive to reach hilltop from the base. Introduction of Cable Car services in 2016 makes people easier to reach the top of Chandragiri Hill which is around 2.5km from near Godam at Thankot to the hilltop, takes around 9 minutes to reach the top through Cable Car. The Bhaleshore Mahadev temple of Lord Shiva is on top of the hill and it is said that King Prithivi Narayan Shah worshipped in the temple before conquering the valley during his unification campaign. The spectacular views of snow-capped mountains such as Langtang range, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Annapurna range and Kathmandu valley can be explored from the hilltop. For the promotions and development of tourism to the Chandragiri Hills has recently begun Cable Car services, Restaurants, Amusement Park, Resort, Multipurpose hall and Branded Shops.

Itinerary Details

08:00 AM – Hotel Pick-up & Drive to Chandragiri = Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Kathmandu and drive southwest to the base station of Chandragiri Hills Cable Car Base Station. The scenic drive takes about 45–60 minutes through local towns and countryside.

09:00 AM – Cable Car Ride to Chandragiri Hill = Enjoy a spectacular 9–10 minute cable car ride above lush forests to the hilltop. Visit the sacred Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple, admire panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley, and, on clear days, enjoy breathtaking Himalayan vistas stretching from the Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, and Everest ranges. Relax with tea or coffee at the hilltop café and take time for photography.

11:30 AM – Drive to Pharping = Descend by cable car and continue to Pharping, one of Nepal's most important Buddhist pilgrimage destinations.

12:00 PM – Explore Pharping Monasteries = Visit Neydo Tashi Pharping Monastery and explore the peaceful monastic surroundings. If time permits, continue to the sacred Asura Cave, where Guru Padmasambhava is believed to have meditated, along with other nearby monasteries and meditation sites. Experience Tibetan Buddhist culture, spinning prayer wheels, colorful murals, and serene Himalayan spirituality.

Enjoy a traditional Nepali lunch at a local restaurant in Pharping, featuring authentic local flavors.

02:30 PM – Explore Kirtipur
Drive to Kirtipur, one of the Kathmandu Valley's oldest Newar settlements. Wander through narrow brick streets, traditional Newari houses, ancient temples, and vibrant local markets. Visit landmarks such as
