Budhanilkantha receives large numbers of pilgrims during Haribodhini Ekadashi, which takes place during the 11th day of the Hindu month of Karthik (October – November), is the major festival for the year in celebration of the awakening of Lord Vishnu from his long sleep.

Swayambhunath Stupa (3km west of Kathmandu), stands top of the top hill and people mostly knows as “Monkey Temple”. This has been registered in UNESCO heritage in 1979 AD.
