Everest Three High Pass Trek is one of the challenging but popular trekking trails in the Everest region. This trail includes mainly three passes, Kongma La pass (5,535 m), Cho La pass (5,420 m) and Renjo La pass (5,446 m). This trail is also said to link five valleys in the Everest region. The route passes through the Kala Patthar (5545 m) and also the Gokyo peak (5350 m), Everest base camp (5364 m), Chukking Ri (5546 m), therefore, this route provides you an opportunity not only capture the scenic valleys, majestic Himalayas but you also get the opportunity of summiting some of the peaks. While having trekking to this area, you will have a chance to capture the scenes of the highest peaks lying around the regions including Mt. Everest, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Lhotse to name a few. You will also have an opportunity to see some of the rare animals and birds including musk deer, snow-leopard, bear among others. This trail is mostly admired for the scenic views of snow-capped mountains, the diverse culture, lifestyles of the Sherpa ethnic groups inhibiting in the high lands.
The trekking begins with a short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla or by bus from Kathmandu to Jiri and walks about one week to reach Lukla and follow the classic trekking route to Everest base camp, through Namche Bazaar. Subsequently, you will follow Tyangboche, Dingboche and pass Kongma La pass then you will descend down to Khumbu glacier, pass Kalapatthar, similarly pass Cho La pass, Gokyo Valley, Gokyo Ri, and reach Renjo La and make tour in the areas and then return back to Lukla via Thame and fly back to Kathmandu.

After breakfast last minutes shopping for Everest Three High Pass Trek and Packing. After lunch at 2PM drive from Kathmandu Hotel to Manthali Airport (Ramechhap), it takes 4 hours of scenic journey through the hilly terrain, country side of life styel. The jounrey passing through southeast of Araniko and BP highway offers beautiful views.
Flight from Manthali Airport to Lukla Airport (2840m/9,315ft) around 15 minutes and trek to Phakding (2610m/8,560ft) 3 hours OR Monjo (2,835m/9,299ft) 5 hours. You will catch a glimpse of some great mountains such as Nupla (5,885m/19,302ft) above Kongde Ridge, Kusum Kang (6367m appears on the right a little later. All along you will be following the northern (left) bank of the Dudh Kosi River. It is important to take these first few days slowly to enable your body to acclimatize and to enjoy the passing scenery and culture.
Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft) 6/4 hours. Namche Bazaar is one of biggest market town in Everest region as Acclimatization place of trekking and expedition. Today it begins on the level ground, relative to the environment in which you are! You will cross the river on a high suspension bridge and begin to climb up to Monjo (2,835m) and on to the gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park Entrance in place to protect and preserve this beautiful environment. There is a good rest stop on the way up to where you will see people gathered, admiring the first real chance to see Everest in the distance. On the way up today, you will be rewarded with views of Kusum Kangaru, Thamserku, Konde-Ri and Tawache Peak than we reach Namche Bazaar.
Rest and Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. Today your Guides will take you to Visitor Center of headquarter Sagarmatha National Park where we can observe an assortment of things related to the first Everest ascendance’s, Sherpa culture and learn about the various plant and animal life of the Everest region. Namche Bazaar is the main center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, a bakery and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday.
Trek from Namche Bazaar to Deboche (3,820m/12,530ft) 5/6 hours. Today’s journey starts with excellent views of Ama Dablam and Everest view along the trail then descends to Phunki Thanga where it takes 2-hour to climb to Tengboche Monastery, one of the biggest Monasteries in Solu Khumbu region. The religious center of the Khumbu region and then trek walk down to Depoche.
The trek from Deboche to Dingboche is part of the iconic Everest Base Camp (EBC) trail and offers stunning views of the Himalayan peaks along with culturally rich experiences. The trail begins with a gradual ascent through rhododendron forests and you’ll cross suspension bridges continues gradually climbing up to Pangboche Village, is one of the oldest Sherpa village in Everest region.The trail becomes steeper and close-up views of peaks like Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and you’ll cross another suspension bridge over the Imja River before the final stretch to Dingboche.
Rest and Acclimatization in Dingboche after Nagkar Tashang Peak hiking and enjoy the outstanding mountain views, particularly the north face of Ama Dablam and Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. There are several walk options enabling your body to acclimatization.
The trek from Dingboche to Chhukhung is a short but rewarding journey in the Everest region, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. It’s often undertaken as part of an acclimatization as preparation for highe passes or climbing. The trail begins with a gentle ascent along the Imja Khola Valley of views Mount Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Nuptse dominate the landscape. Chhukhung is a small village surrounded by towering peaks. It serves as a base for climbers heading to trekkers venturing to Kongma La Pass or Island Peak Climbing. After lunch hike up to Chhukhung Ri (~5,550 m / 18,208 ft) for panoramic views of Ama Dablam, Makalu, and Lhotse.
The trek from Chhukhung to Lobuche via the Kongma-La Pass is a challenging but incredibly rewarding journey in the Everest region. The Kongma-La Pass, at 5,535m (18,159 ft), is the highest of the three passes in the Everest Three Passes trek. It offers spectacular views of the Himalayas and a sense of adventure for trekkers seeking to go off the beaten path. The pass is marked with cairns and prayer flags, and the views from the top are extraordinary, with a sweeping vista of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Makalu in the distance. The trail continues across the glacier to Lobuche.
Trek from Lobuche to Gorak-Shep (5140m/16,860ft) 3 hours. After lunch hike to Everest Base Camp (5,364m/17,594ft) 2 to 3 hours then back to Lodge in Gorak-Shep. You will ascend gently, to begin with through lovely pasture lands; you will follow the rocky moraine path with views of the Khumbu Glacier. Gorakshep is on a flat field below Kala Pattar (5545m) and Pumori (7145m), good spot for lunch after lunch 2/3 hours walk, following to the present Everest Base Camp then back to Lodge.
The trek from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar and then onward to Dzongla is a demanding but immensely rewarding day. It combines the iconic Everest view from Kala Patthar with a scenic descent toward the base of the Cho La Pass. The trail initially descends to towards a slightly lower elevation and crossing the terminal moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. The trekking offers picturesque views of Ama Dablam, Lobuche Peak, Cholatse and glacial landscape to greener pastures as you approach Dzongla.
The trek from Dzongla to Gokyo Lake is one of the most adventurous and scenic segments in the Everest region, involving the crossing of the Cho La Pass (5,420 m / 17,782 ft). This journey combines challenging terrains with spectacular views of glaciated landscapes and majestic peaks. The trail passing through rocky terrain and boulder fields.The trek offering views of peaks like Cholatse, Ama Dablam, and Lobuche. From the top of the Cho La Pass, you’re rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks. the Cho-La pass is slippery icy and steep the Cho-La pass is
slippery icy and steeps, don't forget wear microspikes or crampons. The descent from the pass involves navigating across a small glacier. Be cautious of crevasses and slippery ice. After crossing the glacier, the trail becomes more manageable as it descends into the village of Thagnak. After Thagnak, the trail continues along the Ngozumpa Glacier, the largest glacier in the Himalayas. As you approach Gokyo, the shimmering blue waters of the first, second, and third Gokyo Lakes come into view.
The hike from Gokyo Lake (Third Lake) to the Fifth Lake (Ngozumpa Tso) is a beautiful and relatively less-crowded journey in the Gokyo Valley. It offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks, glaciers, and lakes. The trail starts with a gentle walk along the moraine of the Ngozumpa Glacier. The Fourth Lake, known as Thonak Tsho, is approximately 45 minutes to an hour from Gokyo. Its deep blue waters are mesmerizing, surrounded by rugged terrain. The trail becomes slightly steeper and more rugged as you approach the Fifth Lake. It takes about another hour from the Fourth Lake to reach Ngozumpa Tso. the Fifth Lake, there is a viewpoint called Scoundrel’s Viewpoint. It’s a short climb that provides panoramic vistas of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, and the glacier below.
The trek from Gokyo Lake to Lungden via the Renjo La Pass (5,360meters/17,585feet), is one of the most stunning and rewarding routes in the Everest region of Nepal. This trail offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, and other majestic peaks, as well as the pristine turquoise Gokyo Lakes. The renjo La Pass offers panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and the entire Gokyo Valley. After pass descending offers views of remote valleys and yaks and Lungden is a small, quiet village where you can rest and recover your altitudes.
The trek from Lungden (Lungdhen) to Namche Bazaar is an exhilarating and scenic journey that passes through high-altitude terrains. The trail transitions to lush, green landscapes, paassing through a charming Sherpa village and continue along well-defined paths toward Namche Bazaar, the commercial hub of the Khumbu region.
The trek from Namche Bazaar to Phakding Village is a pleasant downhill journey and a rewarding segment of the Everest region trek. It allows you to descend through beautiful alpine forests, cross suspension bridges, and enjoy the vibrant culture of the Khumbu Valley. The trail includes steep sections and descends through pine and rhododendron forests, crossing several high suspension bridges, including the famous Hillary Suspension Bridge over the Dudh Koshi River and pass by small Sherpa settlements such as Jorsalle and Monjo where is it trekkers are exit of Sagarmath National Park, stop for short tea break or Lunch. Walking continues through prayer wheels, mani walls, and small stupas, which reflect the local Buddhist culture and reaching at Phakding Village.
The trek from Phakding Village to Lukla Airport (Tenzing-Hillary Airport) marks the final leg of most treks in the Everest region. It is a relatively short but slightly uphill journey, allowing you to reflect on your adventure while enjoying the scenic beauty of the Khumbu Valley. the trek following the Dudh Koshi River and crossing several suspension bridges and villages. The drive from Manthali Airport (Ramechhap) to Kathmandu is a scenic road journey that typically takes 4 hours, depending on traffic conditions and enjoy the Hot Shower after long your Everest Three High trekking.
