Jomsom Muktinath trekking has been one of the most demanding and popular trekking trails in Annapurna region. It is the gateway to the upper Mustang and the trail is primarily for exploring the Tibetan plateau. The trail is located in the north of the Pokhara. This trail is considered to be one of the best areas in order to have closest views of the majestic mountains lying in the Annapurna region. This trail is also famous for the pilgrimage tour especially to have toured around the Muktinath, one of the Hindu and Buddhist shrines in the country and also to have a bath in natural hot water. In the same trekking you will have chance to have toured in Poon Hill, one of the finest viewpoints to the panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas such as Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), Mt. Nilgiri (7040m), Mt. Annapurna south (7219m), Mt. Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Mt.  Annapurna IV (7525m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), Mt. Fishtail also called Machhapuchhare (6998m), Tukuche peak (6920m), Lamjung Himal (6586m) among others. Besides, you also can enjoy the mixed culture of various ethnic groups namely Brahmin, Chhetri, Thakali, Magar, Gurung among others and enjoy the beautiful landscapes and pilgrimage trekking tour to both Hindu and Buddhist in Annapurna Himalayan range.

Jomsom Muktinath trekking begins with 30- minute flight from Pokhara to Jomsom, the major trading center in lower Mustang and heads towards north to Kagbeni along the river bank of Kali Gandaki, the deepest gorge in the world, following the trial it finally takes to Muktinath temple. It passes through many fascinating Thakali indigenous peoples settlements sails out the Marpha village, the famous village for apple brandy. You also can enjoy having the shower in Tatopani (Natural hot spring) and visit Ghorepani Poon hill for sunrise over the mountain and have panoramic views of the various Himalayas lying in Annapurna region. From the same way you will return back to Jomsom and fly back to Pokhara or return back to Ghandruk, the largest settlement of Gurung ethnic groups and have great views of Annapurna south and Machhapachare, finally you will descend down to Nayapul, from there, you will catch vehicles and reach in Pokhara.

THINGS TO BRING

  • Windproof outer jacket and warm down-filled jacket if afraid of cold.
  • Comfortable trousers for men and loose skirts for women during the day.
  • Gloves, hat or cap, sunglasses, sunblock, lip balm, etc, to avoid sunburn as the sun in high altitude can be quite intense.
  • Lightweight trekking shoes, warm woolen/ thermal socks. (If one is afraid of cold, otherwise, plain ol’ ordinary socks will suffice.
  • Thermal undergarments this is for the night which might be a bit cold, otherwise, tracksuit should suffice.
  • Flashlight and spare batteries.

AFTER TRIP CONFIRMATION

  • You must start to train yourself when you are free once a week once or day hiking in Mountain in your country or up and down 2/3 hours morning OR evening.
  • We have to need your flight detail and passport photocopy and passport size photo for the trekking permit and Tims cards.
