Panchase Trekking is one another popular trekking trails in Annapurna region. This is considered to be one of the shortest and lowland trekking trails in the region. This is comparatively easy trek and suits to those who are not physically fit to climb high mountains but want to explore the natural beauties, mountain sceneries, rich ethnic culture and rituals among others. The trail no doubt passes through the rhododendron and oak forest, where sometimes you can spot the rare animals birds and listen the chirping of birds. This is very good trekking trail for them who have little time but want to explore and taste the mountain and Himalayan lives. The maximum altitude you pass during this trek is about 2500 m therefore there is hardly any chance to suffer from high altitude sickness. This trekking offers you panoramic views of Himalayas including of Mt. Macchapuchare (Fishtail), Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, Lamjung Himal and Mt. Manaslu to name a few. The geography of this trail varies from subtropical valleys of banana trees and rice paddies to high ridges covered in rhododendron forest.

The easiest access to Panchase is from Badauri village, where you can reach on foot or by vehicle from Naudanda via Baglung highway. The choice is yours, if you wish to go to Ghorepani poon hill, you can combine this trail along with Jomsom Muktinath trekking.

THINGS TO BRING

  • Windproof outer jacket and warm down-filled jacket if afraid of cold.
  • Comfortable trousers for men and loose skirts for women during the day.
  •  Gloves, hat or cap, sunglasses, sunblock, lip balm, etc. To avoid sunburn as the sun in high altitude can be quite intense.
  • Muscle-ache cream, Mosi-Guard insect repellent spray.
  • Lightweight trekking shoes, warm woolen/ thermal socks. (If one is afraid of cold, otherwise, plain ol’ ordinary socks will suffice.
  • Thermal undergarments this is for the night which might be a bit cold, otherwise, tracksuit should suffice.
  • Flashlight and spare batteries.
