Nar Phu Trek is one of the newly opened trekking in Annapurna region. It was opened for the trekkers only in 2003. This trekking has been considered one of the best routes for trekking for those who would like to capture the scenic views of the majestic mountains and natural landscapes in the high land. It is one of the demanded trekking routes among the clients of Alliance Adventure Pvt. Ltd. Nar Phu Trek is combined with Annapurna round trekking. It passes through high peaks and passes, glaciers, remote villages, narrow canyons, lovely forests, amazing rock formations, gompas and unique Himalayan cultures. The Phu is the most beautiful medieval village where you can learn the real lifestyles of Bhote communities; enjoy and have a pleasure of the fabulous and typical landscape of the valley. While having trekking to this area, you can experience the deepest gorge and natural hot spring (Tatopani ), mixed culture of Brahmin, Chhetri, Gurung, Thakali, Tibetan sherpa, Magars, Rai among others and splendid summits of the spectacular Himalayan which can be viewed in the Annapurna Himalayan range.

The trekking to the Nar and Phu valley takes you to the remote but alluring region of Nepal. Unlike other regions of Nepal, trekking the region of Nar and Phu you will observe that the landscape is similar to that of Tibet. One will not only enjoys the delightful sights of quaint Tibetan villages, astounding rock formations, high altitude grazing settlements, narrow canyons, deep forests and majestic snow clad peaks during your trek to the Nar and Phu valley. Narphu Valley trekking offers spectacular regions of ethnically-Tibetan inhabitants and combines remote villages, narrow canyons, lovely forests, amazing rock formations, yaks, gompas and unique Himalayan cultures also include the Annapurna circuit trekking, the trek off the beaten crossing through Challenging high passes like Masokanto La (5099m), Kangla pass (5200m) & Tilicho Pass (5230m) with beautiful Lake Tilicho.

Nar Phu valley Trek starts from the famous trekking route in the Annapurna region via Besi Sahar walking through a unique Marsyandi Valley then follow up off the beaten trails until you get Nar Phu. After visiting Narphu Valley area then the trek takes back to Manang, a beautiful village of Annapurna trail and continue trek to Tilicho route. After trekking about five days through Tilicho Lake (The lake in the highest place in the world 4912m) and two beautiful but challenging pass of Annapurna trekking region trek to Jomsom than by flight back to Pokhara or continue trek to Annapurna loop via natural hot spring and reach the best viewpoint of the Annapurna region known as Ghorepani Poon hill 3210m, after viewed the panoramic Himalayan scenery Trek to Naya Pul then drive back to Pokhara and we return back to Kathmandu.

This is the first major day of the Nar Phu Valley Trek, leaving the main Annapurna Circuit and entering a remote, restricted Himalayan valley. Koto is first checkpoint of Restricted Nar Phu Valley Trekking Permit. The trail walking thorugh cross a suspension bridge over the Nar Khola. The trek to Phu Valley one of the more remote and less-traveled Himalayan trails.  The route roughly tracks alongside the glacial river, moving through rocky landscapes and narrow gorges and you’ll likely go through hamlets such as Chyakhu and Kyang, often with stunning mountain views (Pisang and Annapurna II). This trek is a classic high-altitude side trip from the Annapurna Circuit, leading to Tilicho Base Camp near Tilicho Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world. The trail starts with a gradual ascent, passing through the charming village of Khangsar Village offering great views of the Annapurna range and gives a glimpse into the local lifestyle and continues toward to Shree Kharka, with views of Tilicho Peak, Gangapurna, and surrounding valleys. The trail begins with a gradual ascent through rugged terrain and sparse vegetation. You’ll encounter narrow paths carved into steep slopes and crossing the landslide-prone areas, as the trail can be unstable due to loose rocks and debris. After navigating the landslide zone, the trail becomes relatively easier but still requires careful attention. You’ll descend slightly before ascending to Tilicho Base Camp, a small settlement with basic lodges catering to trekkers.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Keep all receipts that you have until you back to your home.
  • No flashy stuff-jewelry, valuables etc.
  • Strongly advised not to go wandering unless in large group (the “poor” men would have to suffer at the hands of the ladies who would want to shop), Always be aware of your surroundings.

THINGS TO BRING

  • Windproof outer jacket and warm down-filled jacket if afraid of cold.
  • Comfortable trousers for men and loose skirts for women during the day.
  • Gloves, hat or cap, sunglasses, sunblock, lip balm, etc, to avoid sunburn as the sun in high altitude can be quite intense.
  • Lightweight trekking shoes, warm woolen/ thermal socks. (If one is afraid of cold, otherwise, plain ol’ ordinary socks will suffice.
  • Thermal undergarments this is for the night which might be a bit cold, otherwise, tracksuit should suffice.
  • Flashlight and spare batteries.
