Ruby Valley Trek is newly explored trekking trail in the Ganesh Himalayan region of Nepal. The area is mainly populated by Tamang, Gurung, and Ghale to the north, whereas Bramhin, Chhetri, Dalit, Newar, and Chepang are to the south in the lower elevations. Ruby Valley Trek is concealed between the popular destinations of Langtang National Park and the Manaslu Conservation Area Project.
Wildflowers flourish and waterfalls embellish the lush hill scenery in a land blessed with wide-ranging geographical, cultural and biological diversity is the interesting of this trek. Sensational viewpoints feature the sublime Himalaya to the north. Most prominent is the Ganesh Himal Range – a family of peaks among the most attractive of the entire Himalaya.
The Ganesh massif is named in honor of Hindu deity Ganesh, son of Shiva and Parbati. The Ganesh Himal area has some excellent viewpoints that offer magnificent views of peaks and valleys.
Most rewarding are the magnificent Ganga Jamuna (Twin waterfalls) Kalo (Black), Seto (White) and Ganesh Kunda, hot spring and Tripurasundari temple and especially the hospitable people that inhabit the region. Ruby Valley trek is also known as Ganesh Himal Base Camp Trek.

Takes you through scenic roads in the Nuwakot district passing through you'll see the countryside of lifestyle in Nepal, that’s offering Trishuli river, green hill, farms and beautiful sceneries continues to the local roads leading toward Kispang Rural Municipality and Kaule from Trishuli Bazaar.
Kispang Gompa, is a significant spiritual and cultural center for the local Buddhist community. Though not as widely known as larger monasteries in Nepal, it holds considerable importance for the local Tamang and other Buddhist populations. The gompa's history and significance are intertwined with the rich traditions and heritage of the region.
The trek from Kispang Gompa (Kaule) to Jyawati (2,000m/6,561ft) 4 to 5 hours, is a serene journey through the hilly landscapes offering an authentic rural trekking experience, with glimpses of local culture, pristine nature, and stunning views of the surrounding hills and, potentially, the Himalayas. The initial part of the trail descends slightly, taking you through dense forests, terraced fields, and small Tamang settlements. Flora includes rhododendron forests (especially vibrant in spring), pine trees, and wildflowers.The region is home to diverse bird species, and you might spot wildlife such as langurs, deer, or even pheasants.
The Tamang people associate Fikuri Peak with protective deities and spirits believed to reside in the high mountains. Ceremonies are conducted at the summit or nearby ridges to seek blessings for good harvests, health, and protection. During certain Buddhist festivals, locals undertake pilgrimages to Fikuri Peak, carrying prayer flags and performing rituals to honor their spiritual beliefs.Stories and legends about Fikuri Peak are passed down through oral traditions. These tales often describe the peak as a place where spiritual practitioners (lamas) meditated or where protective spirits revealed themselves.
The trek from Fikuri Peak to Rupchet Kharka (3,500m/11,483ft) 5 to 6 hours, is a captivating journey that takes you through rugged trails, serene alpine meadows, and dense forests, offering breathtaking views of the Langtang and Ganesh Himalayan ranges. Rupchet Kharka is a well-known grazing pasture and a base for trekkers heading toward Singla Pass, making it a strategic and beautiful destination. Enjoying the sunrise and panoramic views from Fikuri Peak, begin your descent. The trail heads southward, weaving through alpine terrain and eventually descending into forested and crossing small streams along the way, which may serve as water sources. Ensure you carry purification tablets if you plan to refill. Rupchet Kharka is a wide-open pasture surrounded by hills and used as a grazing ground for livestock. It offers best camping opportunities and is a peaceful spot for trekkers.
The trek from Rupchet to Singla Pass (4,050m/13,287ft) to Shertung Village (1,875m/6,150ft) 6/7 hours, is an off-the-beaten-path adventure in the Ganesh Himal region. This route offers breathtaking views of the Ganesh Himal, Langtang Ranges, and Manaslu Ranges, along with rich of Tamang experiences. The trail descends further through dense forests, terraced fields, and traditional Tamang settlements to continues reaching Shertung Village, a beautiful cultural village inhabited by Tamang people, known for warm hospitality, traditional houses, and local rituals.
The explore the Shertung Village (1,875m) and Chalise Village (1,670m) is a scenic beauty of traditional Tamang settlements, terraced farmlands, and lush green hills. This route is part of the Ganesh Himal trekking region and offers cultural insights and beautiful Himalayan views. The walking descending through terraced fields and rhododendron forests, passing small streams and scenic landscapes and passing through Hindung Village, a small settlement inhabited by Tamang people, known for its hospitality and organic farming in Chalise Village (1,670m), another charming Tamang village with stunning views of the surrounding hills and mountains.
The journey from Shertung Village (1,875m) to Kathmandu (1,300m) is an adventurous drive through remote mountain roads, river valleys, and scenic landscapes. The route mainly follows dirt and gravel roads until reaching Dhading Besi, where it connects to the Prithvi Highway leading to Kathmandu. The drive follows rugged dirt roads, crossing small villages from Chalise, Borang, Jharlang, and Darkha and passing through remote farmlands, dense forests, and rivers. The join the Prithvi Highway, a well-paved road leading to Kathmandu.

The Ruby Valley Trek is a moderate trek suitable for trekkers with basic fitness levels. The trek includes both uphill and downhill routes with moderate altitude gain.
The best time to trek Ruby Valley is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons, when the weather is clear and pleasant.
